3 Things You Should Know Before Eloping in Boston

You’ve picked the most incredible city to get married in, although I may be a little biased. There are endless locations to elope at and tons of delicious restaurants to celebrate at after!
Before you say ‘I do’, there are few things you should know...but don’t worry ya girl has you covered!
1. Retaining your marriage license
The most important part of the day is making sure that you have your marriage license to make it OFFICIAL!
To do so, you’ll have to make an appointment that you and your fiance will have to attend to retain the license, which is valid for sixty days. This means that your ceremony and the return of your license all has to be within sixty days so be sure to plan ahead.
(Because of COVID restrictions, appointments are booking further out than normal so once you have a date be sure to make your appointment.)
2. Deciding where you want to get married
The second most important thing is deciding WHERE in Boston you want to exchange vows and say ‘I do’ to forever...this may be the hardest only because there are so many great options; Christopher Columbus Park, The Seaport, an intimate park in the North end, the list goes on.
Once you’ve finally decided on the perfect location, you’ll want to see if it will require a permit to hold your ceremony/event there.
This may impact your decision or guest count, but it is good to plan in advance and be prepared so that you have nothing to worry about on your day.
3. COVID rules/regulations
Eloping may just mean the two of you and a bottle of wine or it may also mean including some of your favorite people to be a part of your day as well.
Either way, it's important to keep in mind the new COVID rules and regulations so that you can plan accordingly with the number of guests you want to include in your ceremony.
