What’s All The Hype About In-Home Photo Sessions?

If you’re anything like me, home is where the heart is. It may sound cheesey (mac and cheese, anyone? yumm), but it doesn’t make it any less true. Home is just where everything feels right. And in the past year, whether you like being a homebody or not, we kinda have to be. So why not make the best of it?!

In-home sessions are the best of both worlds when it comes to doing a photo session with your family or significant other. Not only are you capturing the moments that matter, but you’re also creating even more memories in a space you share together and call home.

Public parks and nature trails are pretty, but where you live is beautiful in it’s own way. It may be where you brought your first little one home to, or the first place you bought together...it’s all a part of your story and including that aspect into your photographs helps tell it in the best of ways.

With these types of sessions, there is a new sense of ease and comfortability. There’s no searching for locations that means something to the both of you or looking for the best background for christmas cards- every corner of your space is meaningful. And when it comes to outfits….that’s the best part...you can even wear your PJ’s!! Now, that’s my jam. On the note of comfortability, that’s an important aspect when planning your family session. Giving the kids a sense of familiarity and comfort will allow them to be completely natural in their own space allowing for the best kinds of photos in my opinion!

One concern a lot of people have is that their home “isn’t pretty enough” or “doesn’t photograph well” and while those are valid concerns, it’s not about the “look” it’s about the feel. When you look back through your gallery, you should be able to hear the giggles from tickling each other on the couch and feel the warm touches as you embraced in the kitchen.

This is what matters. So just worry about what pajamas you’re going to where and leave the rest up to me!

I’m a firm believer that wherever you are the most comfortable and wherever is the most meaningful to your hearts is where we should be taking your photos. If that’s in your home, baking cookies, in pj’s and you’re in need of an awesome Family Photographer...then COUNT ME IN!!
